Moving Along

Wow now things are moving along!!!!!!!!  Thank you everybody for your great feedback and encouragement.

On Saturday 14th November  Colour City Creatives met at the art gallery with the objective of forming an incorporated body to better pursue options of organizational  funding and sponsorship for local professional and emerging artists to have access to studio space and  gallery facilities to practice their own specialities. 14 people were in attendance and the group elected to become an incorporated body unanimously.
Also of note Orange Regional Gallery Director Alan Sisley  who was unable to attend requested that 3 people from the meeting be chosen to attend a meeting with Council regarding the artspace proposal this is pencilled in for the end of the month
Again the difficulty of deciding who should be the representatives - in the end I  had to decide Christine Wade, Ken Mattock and myself will be attending this as yet to be arranged meeting. Backups in case of one of us not being able to attend Cheryl Trudgen and Nick Prusiak - I wish I could take you all but at the moment I'm using the strategy of spreading the butter evenly across the toast! (strange metaphor I know  - some of you are jam some butter and others toast - together we will all be just what is needed to fill that yawning hole!)

Max was here! Aida Pottinger

The meeting brought up many aspects of the artspace's  obvious and as yet not dreamed of uses

Collabaration
with regard to - in the main the strength of collabaration and the way it feeds and nourishes the creative spark

Visual arts

Gallery Space for local practicing artists
Sculpture - request for casting equipment also welding equipment, woodworking and stonecarving as well as some of the softer mediums - special access to scavenge at the tip in order to show one man's rubbish is another man's treasure and that recycling doesn't just mean putting cans bottles and paper in the bin with the yellow lid.

Bronze casting with Nick Prusiac

Photography - request for studio by Derek Wilson

Printmaking - press and associated paraphanalia
Multimedia - video equipment, computers, wireless hotspot

Musicians

Quiet room with computer, printer and a reason to get out of bed and go to work

Creative Businesses Incubator?
Architecture and Design require at the very least computer and internet access as well as a telephone line with which to do business.

Community Facilities
Community Garden - waste land into useful space.
Opportunity for Councils and energy providers to showcase and demonstrate new green technologies in retrofitting existing buildings with new, experimental and proven technologies designed to utilise finite resources for maximum effect.

And now for the big news!
ABC Local Radio's Angela Owens rang me and will interview me about this meeting just before the 9 o'clock news on Tuesday 17th November. Woo hoo it's happening!!!!!! Thank you Maryanne!.
