entWINEd group exhibiton is over

our entWINEd exhibition is over, it has been so good to see people come in and love art again

during the covid lockdowns we were all so concerned that the joy of simple pleasures had no room in our everyday, but just having our exhibiton and seeing our local community come  and enjoy our art has been such a boost to our well being

thank you so much if you did come and see our exhibition, you have given us such a gift, thank you

for those who did not get a chance, we've compiled a little movie to show you that getting to our exhibitions is really worth the effort

our local artists have no barriers to their creativity and living away from a big city is in fact a blessing as it allows flow of ideas without the grit of living in a congested atmosphere....

Keep this as part of a lovely weekend, towards the end of spring, to see local art by a bunch of exploring contemporaty artists: painters, potters, digital artists, glass artists, weavers and multi media artists too.

The exhibition was supposed to be during the planned Orange Wine Month, but Covid disrupted that idea and all the events are now spread throughout the last 3 months of this unique year. Here's some images from the upcoming show, to whet your appetite:

EARTH Art Exhibition

Earth.
No matter who we are, no matter where we are, we have one thing in common, Earth. It is what we walk on, it is what feeds us. The earth feeds us with the food we find and grow, it feeds our psych and soul. When you live in the landscape as we do in the country, you see and feel it, you smell and hear it. It nourishes our bodies and our minds.
The ground we walk on here in central NSW, the landscape that surrounds us, the climate, the weather is what makes local art unique. There is an inextricable bond to the landscape that artists express through their art and CCC artists express this in their many disciplines.
In paintings inspired by landscape, colour and texture, photographs that capture a moment of time, digital art combining landscape and imagination, weavings using local or found materials, pottery created in the textures of the landscape, glass works glistening with the colours of the seasons.

This exhibition of works explores the CCC artists experience and engagement with their surroundings. The landscape we live in, here in the central west of NSW informs our every day, through each phase of the moon, each turning of the earth. We have what is rare in Australia, here in Orange we have the four seasons. Seasons changing and challenging us, like the fires of 2019, and the viral invasion of our earth in 2020. The ecological crisis of the earth and the worldwide economic crisis of covid, this environment is experienced and imagined by our artists and expressed in their art.
We are a group based in country Australia, yet connected to everyone here on earth, technology does that. Strangely Covid has brought everyone on earth a little closer together. Because right now we are all going through the same thing: covid, climate change, economic crisis and a sense of ecological crisis, all of our own making.
The CCC bunch love the adventure of living in Orange, the drenching colours of autumn, the gentleness of Spring after winter’s monochromatic beauty the bounty that our earth produces and as a bonus we get a free trip around the Sun, every year.

The Here and Now local artists' exhibition at the Orange Regional Gallery

We are very lucky to have a regional gallery that supports local talent.

The Orange Regional Gallery (ORG) has just taken down a wonderful exhibition of local artists' work. The talent in the regions is phenomenal. If you haven't had time to have a look I've made a little movie for you.

It will be a while before our ORG opens again, but when it does, boy! it will be bigger and more wonderful than ever before! The renovations have already begun outside, can't wait for the finish!

In the studio of Margot Huebner

Margot is a vital part of Colour City Creatives. With a studio at her country home she is an accomplished artist we are proud to have as a member. Her gentle soul speaks through her art and the depth seen in her work is the mirror of her life's experiences.
The harmony of colour, gentle yet vibrant, the textures that hint at the complex thought put into her work are all part of a body of work only an artist of many decades of experience can capture. See more of her wonderful work at the next CCC group exhibiton we'll be holding during the Orange FOOD festival.
