CCC Exhibiting Members Portfolio Book

After the genius idea and eventual printing of the first CCC Book in 2012 we have decided to compile another one. The first was done by Joy Engelman and went through 2 re-prints before our membership changed and grew to the point that we were no longer able to sell it.
If you're an exhibiting member and are not part of this project, you still have a chance to contact Jola and be included. Here's what some of the pages look like so far, they can still change, but just to give you a taster :)

Wine Festival is over

The Wine Festival is wrapped up, we had over 300 people through our doors, at least that many voted for the People's Choice in the Terroir Landscape exhibition! So probably there were more who came to see local art at Colour City Cratives but not all voted. We sold lots of art and the gift shop did really well too, one of our best exhibitions!
After the mammoth effort from our members we continued our Pot Luck Dinner celebration on closing night for all the exhibiting artists who still had some energy left. The president, secretary and treasurer although out of town on business made it back just in time to enjoy delicious food, delightful company and lots of fun conversation.
As always, it's well worth the effort!

FashTech - the future is upon us!

Spring has been a busy time, but it's astounding what can be achieved with the help of creative friends. Be it getting the Barracks building ready for the Wine Festival and oh my gosh most amazing and wonderful art is hanging on the walls and free woven baskets on plinths and pottery with clay dug out of our landscape! Do you realise how amazing and talented Colour City Creatives are! well.... let me tell you, they are totally amazing and talented!

Tomorrow we've got the last push, as at 6 pm the FashTech exhibition opens at the Orange Regional Gallery, in Gallery 3. Of course there's lots happening tomorrow evening, including the Night Markets but y'all just have to come to the opening of something extremely special.

This exhibition is a collaboration between what used to be dLux media, but in fact driven by an amazing woman dynamo by the name of Tara Morelos, our own Orange dynamo Vince Lovecchio who is the driving force behind many community events of which Orange Youth Arts Festival, we've been most closely involved with. The third partner to FashTech is of course us, CCC. Little old us, self funded, self run and of course multi talented!

Thank you Heather Dunn, Jenny Davidson and Joy Engelman for helping put together the marionettes and a BIG thank you to Judy Kich who has helped Jola curate the exhibition at the ORG in gallery 3. Also Maggie Rosso for volunteering her home to host Tara in a last minute emergency, Jude Keogh for unfailing support in all those important photographic ways and all the rest of youse that are always there to help! thank you! thank you! thank you!

It's been the hardest most exhausting 4 days so far this year, but the opening is nigh and we're quietly happy with what has evolved from so many people's efforts. The quietest and probably the most wonderful contributor was Annie McKinnon, who held the workshops that produced the work from Orange that will be on display. The amazing and beautiful work was done by young Aboriginal girls, still in High School and community members with vision and talent!
Now all of you, you just gotta come to the opening and be very proud of your town!
Let's support local arts and artists :)
